It's real simple, in spite of all of the talk, kids are still not playing golf.
In spite of all of the fan fare created by Tiger, minority kids are still not playing golf. Sure,
there may be some statistical sign of a bit of an increase, pockets of activity, but certainly we have
not witnessed the projected tidal wave of young golfers.
Golf most defiantly has barriers that create unique challenges in overcoming this reality of low
participation. The two big C's still dominate the landscape, cost and convenience. Still expensive
for a kid who gets 5 bucks a week allowance, and, it is still an insurmountable challenge for a 12
year old to drive to the course!
